Model Urfi Javed has continued her feud with Bharatiya Janata Party leader Chitra Wagh. After the latter filed a police complaint against Urfi, the model targeted the politician in her tweets and other social media posts. In her fresh volley, Urfi set her sights on Wagh for allegedly “threatening to hit her publicly.”
On Wednesday, Urfi took to Twitter and wrote: “Lakhs are pending rape cases but these politicians are going to the media and publicly threatening to hit a woman because of what she smears on her body.” Although Urfi did not explicitly name Wagh, she lodged a written complaint against her with the Maharashtra State Commission for Women after her death. In her complaint, which was shared on Twitter by the committee’s chairman Rupali Chakankar, Urfi said that “Chitra Kishore Wagh has publicly threatened me through the media only to attack me for her own political gain or personal publicity.”
I can’t thank @ChakankarSpeaks and @Maha_MahilaAyog enough for standing up for the right thing. Even if you don’t like my clothes, you can’t take the law in hand and publicly threaten to beat me or incite violence. — Uorfi (@uorfi_) Jan 18, 2023
In her tweet, Chakankar stated that “feeling unsafe in a city like Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, is a serious matter” and urged the Mumbai Police Commissioner to act on this matter and present its report to the commission for to lay.
Urfi later thanked Chakankar and the committee in a tweet. “I can’t thank @ChakankarSpeaks and @Maha_MahilaAyog enough for standing up for the right thing. Even if you don’t like my clothes, you can’t take the law into your hands and publicly threaten to beat me or incite violence,” she tweeted.
The feud started when Chitra Wagh met with Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar to file a complaint against Urfi Javed, for allegedly “indulging in public nudity on the streets of Mumbai”. Urfi Javed was later summoned by the police and had to make a statement about this. Urfi javed, has since hit back at the BJP leader in multiple statements and social media posts.
