Ved also marks Riteish’s directorial debut. Genelia plays his wife Shravani, an Indian Railways employee, but fails to get his love when he plays an alcoholic husband pining for his ex-girlfriend.

Genelia has now expressed her desire to play roles appropriate to her age. “Today I am in a different age group and I want to play roles in that (age group). I feel like there are better written roles these days. You could be a single mother, a married mother, you could have a love story. This age group is beautiful. I hope roles are written in that zone,” Genelia said during an interview with Bollywood Hungama.

Meanwhile, Ved is all set to cross over 50 crore at the box office. Sharing the latest box office collections of the film, Taran Adarsh had tweeted on Monday, “#Marathi movie #Ved puts in an EXCELLENT number in weekend 3 [ 6.81 cr]… Will cross 50 cr on weekdays… Should have a clear unimpeded run until #Pathaan arrives… [Week 3] Fri 1.35 cr, Sat 2.72 cr, Sun 2.74 cr. Total: 47.66 kr.”

Genelia had taken a break after marrying Riteish in 2012. They are parents to two sons, Riaan, 8, and Rahyl, 6. Genelia had made a few cameo appearances in a few movies during that time. She recently credited Riteish for pushing her back into acting. She told PTI in an interview, “I love being a mother. I always think ‘What if my children are neglected?’ But he always steps in and says, “When you work, I’m the person who sees the house, I’m the housewife.” That kind of understanding and support gives me the opportunity to make a movie.”
