Jacqueline Reacts As Her Movie’s Song Will Compete With Naatu Naatu At Oscar 2023 | Bollywood

Actor Jacqueline Fernandez commented after the song Applause from her movie Tell It Like a Woman was nominated in the Best Original Song category at the Academy Awards alongside RRR song Naatu Naatu. Jacqueline took to Instagram on Wednesday and shared the news and congratulated the team. Applause is performed by Sofia Carson and the music and lyrics are by Diane Warren. In the category, the song was nominated alongside Naatu Naatu from RRR, Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and This Is a Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once. Tell It Like a Woman is an anthology directed by Leena Yadav, Maria Sole Tognazzi, Lucia Puenzo, Silvia Carobbio, Taraji P Henson, Mipo Oh and Catherine Hardwicke. It is an Italian-American production.

Jacqueline co-starred with transgender model Anjali Lama in Leena’s short film Sharing A Ride. In her Instagram note, she said she is honored to be a part of the project. “More than words now (hands folded emoji). Congratulations to @dianewarren @sofiacarson for the Oscar nomination for Applause and making us all proud! It was an honor to be associated with this wonderful film Tell it like a woman alongside such esteemed artists! In her post, Jacqueline also gave a shout-out to the RRR team for making history with Naatu Naatu. She also wrote, “Also big congratulations to Team RRR for the nomination of Naatu Naatu!!! My best wishes and love to all the team and all nominees (red heart emoji).” Jacqueline made her Hollywood debut with Tell It Like a Woman.

Naatu Naatu, from SS Rajamouli’s movie RRR, is composed by MM Keeravani and written by Chandrabose. The hit track is sung by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj. It gained recognition after Keeravani won both a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice award for it. RRR also won the Critics Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

In addition to Naatu Naatu, India had two more brilliant moments when announcing the Academy Awards nominations on Tuesday night. Shaunak Sen’s critically acclaimed All That Breathes made the final nomination list in the best documentary category, while the Tamil documentary The Elephant Whisperers garnered a nomination in the short documentaries section of the 95th Academy Awards.
