Actor Kareena Kapoor and singer Kanika Kapoor attended the Indian Chamber of Commerce-Young Leaders Forum event in Kolkata on Sunday. A video from the event shows Kareena grooving in her place as Kanika sings the Udta Punjab song Da Da Dasse on stage. Kareena starred in the film, which also starred Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh. Karen Kapoor was decked out in a backless black dress and had her hair tied in a neat bun as she dug to the song. Kanika also wore a black dress with a split in the front. While singing Da Da Dasse, Kareena dug along to the catchy song.
One viewer commented on the video shared by a paparazzo account on Instagram: “Indeed an iconic song. Listen to it every time you feel like giving up and then you won’t. Another wrote: “Bebo gives always lead by example!” Another fan commented, “Natural and simplicity beauty.”
During the conversation, Kareena also talked about the ‘Boycott Bollywood’ trend. She said: “I do not agree at all. If that happens, how will we enjoy ourselves, how will you have the joy and happiness in your life, which I think everyone needs. And what films and movies are promising, what we have always done, what movies have always done. Agar movies nahi hogi toh entertainment kaisa hoga (how will there be entertainment if there are no movies).”
Kareena was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha of Advait Chandan. Aamir Khan starred in the movie as he stepped into Tam Hanks’ shoes in this original remake of his movie Forrest Gump. The film faced the ‘Boycott Bollywood trend’, which is believed to be one of the reasons for its underperformance at the box office.
Kareena has finished shooting her two upcoming projects. She shot last year in Kalimpong, West Bengal for Sujoy Ghosh’s thriller based on the book The Devotion of Suspect X. She then shot for Hansal Mehta’s next untitled film in UK. It also stars Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat.
