Judging by Mission Majnu’s Twitter review, fans have received a lot of praise for the new on-screen pair. Speaking about it, one of them tweeted, “The direction of this movie is very amazing. It also influences people a lot because patriotic slogans are given as much as possible and most preferred. Mission Majnu.” “Honestly, I enjoyed the spy and action scenes more than the love story,” added another.

Someone wrote: “I wonder if #MissionMajnu & #Shershah would have been released in theaters..! Log sadiyo yaad rakhega @SidMalhotra ka performance (people will remember Sidharth Malhotra’s performance for a long time). What an actor he is. Career best performance to date. Ye dono film nahi feelings hai (Shershah and Mission Majnu are feelings).” Yet another commented, “I would have loved to see this movie in theaters.”

“Just finished #MissionMajnu Unlike most movies, this one shows us that you shouldn’t pat your chest to be called a patriot. Loved the climax part, could bring tears. Great performance from Sid, steals the show in it. Others were good too. Deserved a theatrical release,” one user also shared.

Mission Majnu, directed by Shantanu Bagchi, is based on true events of the 1970s. The trailer showed Sidharth playing the “simple” tailor who goes to and from important places in Pakistan to report to India about their nuclear facility. Rashmika, who plays his wife Nasreen, is part of his border cover story.

Speaking of her character, Rashmika tweeted, “A character who displays unconditional love and innocence. She always chooses to support her lover and only confronts him when she sees no other way out. She was a beautiful lady to play and I hope may she find a place in your hearts… to bring you Nasreen from #MissionMajnu.”

The film also stars Kumud Mishra and Sharib Hashmi. The Hindustan Times review of the film stated, “Mission Majnu flaunts a winning plot oozing with patriotism and heroics. It’s emotional, captivating and thrilling. But the experience is marred by too many easy coincidences and loopholes that are hard to ignore. Prior to Republic Day, director Shantanu Bagchi pays tribute to all heroes who don’t wear uniform and who sacrifice their lives for their motherland. However, the story, co-written by Aseem Arrora, Sumit Batheja and Parveez Shaikh, falters in several places and doesn’t let Mission Majnu hit hard.”
