Republic Day 2023: Noida Police to review security arrangements; bomb, dog brigades roped in
Ahead of Republic Day, police officers dressed in civilian clothes to review security measures in shopping malls and busy areas of Noida and Greater Noida, which borders the national capital, Delhi. Bomb squads and sniffer dogs were also deployed for pre-Republic Day inspections.
Places where there is a lot of foot traffic on Republic Day, such as hotels, metro stations, bus stops and local markets, were also checked in these places.
“By order of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, the police have carried out checks and inspections in all hotels, shopping malls, markets and other busy areas throughout the district. Bomb squads and sniffer dogs have also been deployed during the security inspections.” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Vishal Pandey said.

In addition, police officers in civilian clothes and in uniform have been dispatched. Particular interaction has taken place with private security firms, including those engaged by shopping malls.
The security services and their staff have been instructed to immediately notify the local police via emergency helpline 112 if any suspicious activity or person comes to light.
Police also urged residents, including women and children, to immediately report any suspicious activity near the 112 helpline. The police personnel also took their feedback on the security measures applied.
All security measures are in place and positioned to ensure a smooth Republic Day celebration, the additional DCP said.
