Shah Rukh Khan is all set to return to the big screen after four years at Siddharth Anand’s Pathan. The film is set to bring back the magic of the superstar in nearly 25 single-screen theaters across India, which were previously closed. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan reunites Shah Rukh with his Chennai Express co-star Deepika Padukone. It also stars John Abraham. The story revolves around a soldier who ends his break to take down a terrorist group against India.

After a large number of pre-bookings, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh ​​tweeted: “’PATHAAN’ REDUCED SINGLE SCREENS… #Pathaan is all set to revive the theater world, judging by the amazing pre-bookings… Most importantly, a whopping 25 single screens across #India – which were closed – will reopen this week with #Pathaan, given the unprecedented buzz.

Earlier, another trade analyst Atul Mohan reported that a total of 90,000 tickets were sold on the first day of pre-booking. According to him, PVR has sold 35,000 tickets, INOX 30,000 and Cinepolis 25,000 until 9 p.m. on January 19. day before release. We can safely say that the shows are good. In most buildings such as Cinepolis, PVR and INOX etc, four of the five screens are given to Pathaan.”

Most of the 25 single screen theaters are located in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. These include Jaipur’s Gem Cinema and Allahabad’s Rajkaran Cinema. Mumbai’s Carnival R Mall in Mulund will also feature Pathaan. Other theaters being revived include Jyoti Cinema in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and Cinekamla Ponda in Goa.

According to previous reports, Pathaan has sold tickets worth Rs 15 crores. Experts expect the film to produce an opening collection 35-40 crore when released on the first day. It is also expected to be gross 150-200 crore in India during the first weekend and 300 crore worldwide.

Shah Rukh was last seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in a special guest appearance. His last feature film, however, remains Zero. Released in 2018, it starred Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. Directed by Aanand L Rai, Zero scored poorly at the box office. Meanwhile, the teaser of Salman Khan’s upcoming Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is being shown at the release of Pathaan.
