Mumbai: Businessman Raj Kundra – husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty – and others have been accused of creating pornographic content in a number of luxury hotels that was distributed by OTT platforms for monetary gain, the Maharashtra Cyber ​​Police said.

Kundra, along with models Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey, a film producer Meeta Jhunjhunwala and a cinematographer Raju Dubey, allegedly shot the lewd or pornographic videos at two five-star suburban hotels, according to the cyber police charge sheet filed before a judge last week.

Earlier in 2021, the Crime Division of the Mumbai Police had filed its separate indictment in April, followed by an additional indictment in September in the sensational pornography scam case that came to light following a raid on a Madh Island bungalow in February ( 2021).

The cyber police, who filed a case in 2019, alleged that Kundra, director of Armsprime Media Ltd., engaged in producing and distributing obscene videos on certain websites.

The 450-page chargesheet credits, among others, Suvajit Choudhary of Banana Prime OTT and a Kundra associate, Umesh Kamath, for allegedly producing a web series ‘Prem Paglani’ with porn content and uploaded on the OTT.

Pandey is also accused of developing her own mobile app, ‘The Poonam Pandey’, having her videos made, uploaded and distributed with the help of Kundra’s company.

According to the cyber police, Dubey had also recorded videos of Chopra, while Jhunjhunwala is accused of complicity in writing and directing stories for her (Chopra).

Cyber ​​police have claimed that Kundra’s company has “aided and encouraged crime” as it has obtained financial benefits from all other co-suspects, though they are aware that such things are illegal even though they are looking for another “missing”. models who acted in the porn videos or web series.

After the high-profile case was exposed by the Mumbai Police, which saw several suspects apprehended, Kundra was sent to two months’ detention before being released on bail in September 2021.

The other defendants included Ryan Thorpe, the IT chief of Kundra’s firm Viaan Enterprises, Yash Thakur alias Arvind Shrivastav who is believed to live in Singapore and Kundra’s brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi, based in London, who runs the Kenrin companies. and Hot Shot.

Mumbai police, which accused Kundra of producing around 100 adult films, had also frozen Thakur’s bank accounts amounting to Rs 6.50 crore and recorded the statements of 43 witnesses in the case, according to the supplementary indictment in September. 2021.
