Weeks after Madhya Pradesh Chairman Girish Gautam said that Shah Rukh Khan should watch Pathaan with his daughter, the actor indeed watched the film not only with Suhana Khan, but also with his wife Gauri Khan and son Aryan Khan at Yash Raj Films office on Monday. The family was seen late Monday night before the screening. Read also: Pathaan gets new directive from Delhi High Court; Shah Rukh Khan’s film will be released on Prime Video in April
Shah Rukh was seen in a cream T-shirt and blue trousers and wearing the beaded necklace he wore during the film’s promotions. Aryan also wore a white T-shirt while Suhana wore a cream colored hoodie.
In December last year, Girish Gautam, Chairman of Madhya Pradesh, had objected to Deepika Padukone’s saffron bikini in the Pathaan trailer. He had told NDTV, “Shah Rukh should watch this movie with his daughter, upload a picture and tell the world he is watching it with his daughter.”
Shah Rukh recently returned from Dubai, where he witnessed the Pathaan trailer on display at the Burj Khalifa on Saturday. He also promoted the movie at an event where he said his popular lines from the movie and also did his Pathaan hookstep of the song Jhoome Jo Pathaan.
Shah Rukh had also recently held an Ask Me Anything session on Twitter. During the interaction, a fan asked him how his family has reacted to the trailer. The actor shared the reaction of his youngest child, Abram Khan. He said, “The little one liked the jetpack sequence the most… he thinks I might go to another realm!”
Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, stars Shah Rukh as a secret agent and John Abraham as the antagonist. Deepika Padukone is the female lead while the film also has Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. The film will hit theaters around the world on January 25.
Shortly after the trailer was released, some politicians objected to Deepika’s saffron bikini and her glamorous looks. Some also objected to the film’s title, which refers to a particular community. The censor board passed the movie with a few cuts.
