When Katrina Kaif talked to her mother about having seven daughters, a son | Bollywood
In an interview from 2019 Katrina Kaif talked about “not having a father figure” growing up, and how that created a certain “vacuum” in her life. The actor said that “any girl can feel vulnerable,” adding that if she has children of her own, she wants them to “have the experience of being with both parents.” In the same interview, Katrina spoke about her mother Suzanne Turquotte, who single-handedly raised seven daughters and a son. She admitted that it wasn’t until much later that she realized that it “must have been hard” for her mother. Katrina talked about asking her mom Suzanne about having “so many kids,” as well as how she raised them on her own. Katrina added that her mother had talked to her about her life over the past few years, which the actor said was “much more helpful to her.”
When asked if she ever asked her mother what she thought when she gave birth to seven girls, Katrina told Filmfare in a 2019 interview, “Yes, I did. I asked her what you thought when you had so many kids and how did she that?” you do it alone. But what my mother had to say about life over the years has helped me much more. It weighs heavier. Now that you can see things from a distance, you realize it must have been hard for her.”
Katrina went on to talk about how her “divorced parents played a role” in how she navigated her personal life. Katrina married actor Vicky Kaushal in December 2021. When asked if she was looking for strong male figures in her relationships or even outside of them, maybe in a boyfriend or director, Katrina had said in the same 2019 interview, “I don’t think I did that. People say you lucky if you can count your real friends on your fingers. My reliable, intimate circle of friends knows me well. They understand where you come from, your fears and your insecurities. Of course my parents divorced had a role to play. My mother had a family of seven daughters and a son.”
Katrina was last seen in Phone Bhoot alongside Ishan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi. The film was directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced under Excel Entertainment of Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. Katrina will next appear in Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas with Vijay Sethupathi. The first poster of the film was released in December 2022. Katrina will also appear in Salman Khan’s Tiger 3.
